...and in the blink of an eye, it's almost November again. I feel like 2017 is going by so very fast, I can barely keep up. Didn't I just get home from the UK? It's also almost Christmas! Time is a funny thing. Sometimes minutes feel like hours and then there are moments you wish could last forever.
It hurts to write this but I have to say goodbye to my favorite month. October is not just my fave because of my birthday, it's THE autumn month and that makes it so special for me. Today is a bank holiday where I live and because my Monday lecture got cancelled, I spend the long weekend at home. Oh my, I'm getting so emotional just typing this! I'm such a softie, haha. I don't know why everything is so much harder for me now than it was in England. Maybe because Erfurt is still so close to home and it doesn't take long to travel back and forth? Who knows. Anyway, I went home on Friday and it was so nice to be surrounded by my family and my cats again.
Even though I went home, uni was with me. I had to do quite a lot of work! One of my lectures in communication studies tends to be a bit difficult because of the jargon and because it is kind of plain. That's why I had to re-do my notes and go through the power point presentation again. I mean, I didn't "have to" but I wanted to. I don't want to already become all sloppy about uni! So far, I really love my subjects. Everything is in English in Anglistics, I have a course with a British lecturer and the communication stuff is also really interesting. Nevertheless, there's a lot I have to do after uni and also before uni especially for my literary history courses where we get many long texts to read at home. But I'm still very motivated. I mean, I don't sit here and think to myself: "Oooh, yay, work!" but like I said, it's all very cool and exciting. I hope, it'll stay like that or almost like that so that I stay motivated.

Saturday and Sonntag basically just consisted of my communication lectures and texts about 19th century american women writers but going outside now and then to see my cats made it all easier. Besides, on Friday the second season of Stranger Things FINALLY came out which meant, after a long day in front of my computer, I treated myself with a long night in front of my computer each time. The difference was that my mind was focused on the Upside Down instead of literary history. Of course and sadly, I'm done with the new season and I'm pretty sad about it. That show is just so good and the fact that I have to wait another year again until new episodes kind of hurts. And no, I'm not too dramatic.

To prepare for Halloween, I watched my beloved movie Hocus Pocus as I do every year. It was as lovely as per usual! Monday evening, my long weekend at home ended with a Halloween party. My best friend and I went as Max and Caroline from 2 broke girls and we got many compliments for our costumes. That was pretty cool!
This afternoon, I travelled back to Erfurt. Right now, I'm sitting here trying not to fall asleep while typing. The party ended at 4am.
Ich wünsche euch noch eine schöne Restwoche!
I hope you'll have a lovely rest of the week!
Nina :)
